We also have a shop on site that sells basics such as shampoo, toothpaste, wipes and sunscreen if you find you're running low on something. Along with this we also have the 'Porthkerris Beach Cafe' which is open throughout the day during the busy summer months. It sells baguettes, burgers, jacket potatoes and much more.

The kayaking off Porthkerris is 'Stunning', not only do you have a long stretch of cornish coastline to admire, there is also a pub that you can stop off at in the next bay along! And if you're lucky you might get a Basking Shark come alongside you! We also have The Helford River close to us, which is fantastic for kayaking, with lots of creeks to amble around.
In the past we have also had kayaking clubs come down and camp and use the place for their 'Festivities' with races, games and general fun competitions going on.
We do not charge people to launch their kayaks from Porthkerris, but do charge £2.00 to park the car per day.

We have a large area that is set aside just for fishing, so there is plenty of space to choose from. Mackeral is the most common fish caught from the rocks here, especially during April/May when we get huge shoals coming in. However, if you know your fishing it is also possible to catch fish such as Bass, Pollock and even Angler Fish!

We have a shop at Porthkerris that does stock a few bits and pieces of Fishing Tackle such as feathers, weights, rods (a variety of sizes), floats, weights, landing nets, lines, reels, filleting knives and frozen sand eels for bait.

If you are keen on Fishing or just fancy a small boat trip, you might like to go out on a boat and have a go at doing some deeper fishing, perhaps over some wrecks….. This gives you more opportunity to catch more of a variety of fish, including Cod, Whiting and Ling. We can provide this from one of our boats, the 'Celtic Kitten'….. You would go out for a couple of hours, all equipment is included. We do need a minimum of 6 people to run this trip.

We must stress that here at Porthkerris we like to think that whatever you take from the sea is to be eaten or used for something – please don't kill just because you can! And if you are out there fishing and catching then we are always grateful for a couple in the shop!

Prices for Fishing are £2.00 per person fishing and £2.00 to park the car……And this lasts all day!

Travelling south you head through Cornwall either along the A30 over Bodmin, (normally the quickest way) or via Plymouth and over the bridge.

Simply head towards Helston coming either route.

You travel towards Helston on the by-pass heading towards the Lizard. You will the pass the Helicopter base 'Culdrose' on both sides of the road .

After passing the base you will come to an island turn left here following the road to St Keverne, at the next Island turn right again towards St Keverne you will now travel for 5-10 minutes (speed depending) over ''Goonhilly'' passed the telecommunications centre.

You then arrive at St Keverne, turn left into the square keeping the White Hart pub on your left then turn left out of St Keverne passed the fire station on your left.

Follow the road towards Porthallow, you will pass some gates on your right with stone eagles at their entrance shortly after this take the next right, (signposted) then next left to Porthkerris dive centre.

Please remember the nearest petrol station is Zoar garage which you will pass on your way to St Keverne, it may be an idea to fuel up here.
